Varsity Restaurant is known for offering delicious meals and attentive service.
Owners Roy and Darlene Russell have been operating Varsity in its current Old Town location for the past 30 years. While they serve certain staples all the time, a large portion of the menu changes daily. They strive to offer a variety of foods throughout each week, particularly those that are in season. Many of the vegetables served at Varsity are grown in the Russells’ own garden. Each day, customers can find a selection of 17 to 18 vegetables and 12 to 14 meats on the menu. Many people also come to Varsity for the famous Watkins hot dog, made with the original Watkins recipe. Every effort is made to accommodate special dietary requests as well.
Varsity Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch every Monday through Friday from 7 am to 2:30 pm and every Saturday from 7am to 2 pm. It is located at 108 Oakland Avenue. For more information, call 803-328-3110.
